Pope John Paul II Assembly 3293

2025-2026 Assembly Officers Installed

On August 28, 2025, the 2025-2026 officers of all of the Assemblies in the First New Jersey District were formally installed by District Master James J. DeLuccia, assisted by District Marshal Kenneth Schmitt and Assistant Marshall Mario Lepage at “The New” LaNeve’s Restaurant.

Installed as officers of Pope John Paul II Assembly 3293 were Faithful Friar Fr. John Primich, Faithful Captain Michael Miciak, Faithful Comptroller Jay Bohn, Faithful Pilot William Murphy, and Faithful Trustee Herman Martin. Also in attendance was the new Color Corps Commander Jorge Sarabia.

Before placing the jewel of office around his neck, DeLuccia instructed each man on the core duties of his office. After extracting a promise of faithful service, DeLuccia declared the men duly installed and authorized to execute the duties of their respective offices until lawfully succeeded at the end of their terms.

In concluding remarks Schmitt recognized the continuing contributions of the color corps and called out Executive Assistant Marshal David Cordero, color line commander Joseph Bonafide, assistant commander Lawrence Bogar, and all the assistant marshals, battalion commanders, and color corps commanders.

There were also comments by State Secretary (and Former Master) Russell Petrocelli and State Deputy James Sweeney, who called upon the Knights to be “heralds of hope,” echoing the theme of the recent Supreme Convention and the video message of Pope Leo XIV.

Faithful Navigator’s Message

Worthy Sir Knights of Hunterdon County,

I am honored to serve you as Faithful Navigator in the coming fraternal year. Together we will embrace our order’s fourth principle of patriotism and continue the good works of our assembly.

Congratulations to outgoing FN Bill Smith and outgoing CCC Bob Keeling. Your leadership has truly kept our swords bright for liberty’s sake. The energy and passion you have demonstrated has set the bar high for all of us to emulate.

Brothers, during the coming year we will continue our focus:
• Honoring God, our holy catholic church, and our country
• Supporting veterans, active-duty military, law enforcement, and first responders
• Honoring those who have fallen in the line of duty, and deceased members of this assembly
• Public displays of our patriotism and proudly honoring our flag
Sir Knights like each of you have a 125-year history of exemplary service to God and country. But we can only “keep our swords bright” in the future by:
• Greater engagement from our 230+ assembly members
• Stronger participation from our 8 member councils, and
• Targeted recruitment of the 700+ 3rd knights in Hunterdon County

I have witnessed this assembly standing united in service to God and Country. And although the tasks ahead may seem daunting, our commitment and resolve are greater. There is nothing we cannot accomplish together.

Wishing all of you a safe and enjoyable start to the fall season!

Vivat Jesus,

Dan
