This post is fairly brief because I do not expect much debate that my thesis is accurate, as opposed to whether it is a good thing. This is just one building block of an economic argument I will develop in later posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My thesis is that as a general rule people will tend to act in what they perceive to be their (economic, political, social) best interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thus, the cynics among us will even look for a hidden motive where an action appears altruistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
