I responded by two posts, the <a href=\"https:\/\/bohn.org\/wpmocha\/blog\/2015\/11\/15\/redesigning-the-new-jersey-flag-part-1\/\">first suggesting that the new flag be a banner of the State\u2019s arms<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/bohn.org\/wpmocha\/blog\/2015\/11\/16\/redesigning-the-new-jersey-flag-part-2\/\">second proposing the \u201cNew Jersey buff ensign\u201d as an auxiliary flag<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On February 8, 2016,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nj.com\/entertainment\/index.ssf\/2016\/02\/vote_for_a_new_flag_for_new_jersey.html\"> the ten finalists in the design competition were revealed and NJ.com readers were invited to vote for their favorite<\/a>. I just made a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/bohn.org\/wpmocha\/blog\/2016\/02\/15\/redesigning-the-new-jersey-flag-comments-on-the-ten-finalists\/\">post in which I briefly commented on the ten designs and the voting process adopte<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bohn.org\/blog\/2016\/02\/15\/redesigning-the-new-jersey-flag-comments-on-the-ten-finalists\/\">d<\/a>. This post will discuss a new design that occurred to me after reviewing the other entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of the Nordic or Scandinavian countries (Norway, Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Denmark)&nbsp;use a design called the Nordic or Scandinavian cross.
